Norfolk Island – A Jewel in the South Pacific

Vanessa and I hosted a wonderful group of Probus members and friends on a visit to the beautiful Norfolk Island.

It’s got to be the perfect destination for anyone wanting a holiday, not too far from home – a 2 ½  hour flight from Sydney. The island offers delicious local produce, with hospitable & friendly islanders who are all multi-skilled – bus driver by morning – theatrical player by night! Beautiful scenery, golden sandy beaches, safe swimming, heritage and culture, music, dance and much more, what else could one ask for?

We stayed at the comfortable Paradise Resort & Spa, located just on the edge of the township, the accommodation, staff and service was great, set in beautifully manicured gardens with a pool for relaxation – if you have time that is!! We enjoyed excellent dining at the hotel and various other island venues.

There is a good selection of all types of accommodation, car hire and a host of day and half day tours.

Touring out from the Hotel each day, using Pinetree and Baunti Tours – both excellent, we met many of the islands artisan’s, who offer a wealth of beautiful products from exquisite glassware to paintings, goats milk cheeses & skin care to amazing hand-made Ukulele’s.

A wonderful destination, not only for groups, but we would also recommend Norfolk for travellers of all ages, family holidays and special interest groups.

Want to hear more?? – give Vanessa or Julie a call, we would be delighted to tell you much more about this amazing jewel in the South Pacific.
